Beginning with the next registration year after the Secretary of State distributes newly designed standard registration plates, newly registered motor vehicles shall be issued one registration plate instead of two.

The single registration plate shall be attached to the rear of the vehicle instead of being displayed on both the front and rear.

References to "plates" in plural in existing laws and rules shall be deemed to refer to the single registration plate required under this amendment.

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code sections 1-171, 3-412, and 3-413 to implement the one-plate requirement for newly registered vehicles.
