SB1695 - Fire Alarm Service Professional Licensing Act

• Creates state licensing requirements for fire alarm contractors, installers, and technicians under the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, effective 6 months after enactment.

• Requires licensed businesses to employ a designated certified person meeting qualifications including valid professional engineer license, NICET Level III certification in fire protection, or completion of approved apprenticeship program.

• Mandates liability insurance of at least $500,000 per person/$1,000,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 property damage, plus workers' compensation coverage for all licensees.

• Establishes 3-year license renewal with 45 hours of continuing education, administrative civil fines up to $1,000 per violation, and grounds for disciplinary action including failure to maintain insurance or supervision.

• Exempts municipalities with populations exceeding 1,000,000 from licensing requirements and allows licensed electrical contractors to work without fire alarm license if holding valid NICET Level II certification.
