IL SB1719

Prohibits private entities from turning on or enabling a digital device's microphone without prior agreement from the registered account holder or user configuring the device.

Requires consumer agreements or privacy notices to disclose: that the microphone will be enabled, what command activates it, categories of sounds being monitored, and categories of third parties receiving the audio data.

Exempts device manufacturers who do not activate or use the microphone themselves from these requirements.

Mandates private entities recording and transmitting personally identifiable information from microphones implement and maintain reasonable security measures against unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, and disclosure.

Grants the Attorney General exclusive enforcement authority and voids any waivers of the Act's provisions.
