IL SB1750

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections to add factor (32) to sentencing aggravation provisions: leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death while driving under the influence or using an electronic communication device.

Factor (32) allows courts to impose extended-term sentences when a defendant violates Section 11-401(b) of the Illinois Vehicle Code and was either driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or operating a vehicle while using an electronic communication device.

Modifies punctuation and grammar in factor (31) regarding driving under the influence on one-way roads designated for opposite direction traffic.

Maintains all existing 31 aggravating factors for sentencing considerations while adding the new traffic-related offense provision.
