IL SB1756

Amends Section 155.36 of the Illinois Insurance Code to require insurance companies offering Class 1(b) or Class 2(a) insurance to comply with subsection (d) of Section 30 in addition to existing compliance requirements for managed care reform and patient rights.

Modifies Section 5-10 of the Health Maintenance Organization Act to clarify terminology by replacing "managed care" with "health maintenance" organizations throughout the section.

Prohibits health maintenance organizations from passing the cost of assessments imposed under Article V-H of the Illinois Public Aid Code to consumers as a separate addition to premiums.

Requires the Department to provide the Department of Healthcare and Family Services with member months and premium revenue data needed to implement assessments under Article V-H of the Illinois Public Aid Code.

Section 5 takes effect January 1, 2020; remaining provisions take effect upon becoming law.
