Eight state agencies must enter into an intergovernmental agreement within 180 days to provide preventive services to youth aging out of or recently aged out of Department of Children and Family Services custody.

The agreement requires agencies to establish an interagency liaison to review cases of at-risk youth and connect them to housing support, educational support, and employment support services.

Agencies must determine how to best provide supportive services to youth at risk of homelessness, incarceration, or similar negative outcomes during their transition out of state care.

Beginning January 1, 2021 and annually thereafter, agencies must report to the General Assembly on the number of youth intercepted, services provided, and duration of support received.

The Department of Children and Family Services must annually report the number of youth aging out of state care and the length, type, and outcomes of services offered to them.
