IL SB1871

Removes the requirement that board of review members be qualified by experience and training in property appraisal and property tax administration from Section 6-5.

Adds Section 6-15 to establish qualifications for board of review members appointed under Section 6-5, requiring they be qualified by experience and training in property appraisal and property tax administration.

Allows county boards to adopt a resolution requiring appointed board members to hold either a professional assessment designation listed in Section 2-45 or a certified residential or general real estate appraiser license under the Real Estate Appraiser Licensing Act of 2002.

Maintains the political composition requirement that 2 of 3 board members be affiliated with the party polling the highest vote for county office in the last general election, with the third member from a different party.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
