IL SB2037

Amends the Illinois Notary Public Act to create a licensure requirement for notary public remittance agents who submit applications to the Secretary of State on behalf of applicants for compensation or otherwise.

Requires remittance agents to have no history of administrative citations, criminal complaints, or civil actions arising from duties as a notary public remittance agent.

Mandates remittance agents maintain a $20,000 surety bond to act as a remittance agent.

Requires remittance agents to comply with all Secretary of State requirements for submission of notary public applications.

Exempts units of local government from these licensure requirements.
