IL SB2055

Replaces the general disability database with a "Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services" (PUNS) database specifically for Illinois residents with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and related co-occurring conditions who need Department-funded services.

Requires PUNS to maintain information including types of services needed, demographic data, diagnoses, assessment information, caregiver age, living situation, submission date, and representative district of residence.

Mandates the Department contact individuals in PUNS at least twice yearly via email or letter regarding their status and available services such as housing, home-based services, employment training, respite care, and day programs.

Requires the Department to develop a web-based verification and information-update application and seek federal funding to implement an effective PUNS technology system.

Directs the Department to collaborate with the State Board of Education to inform students with disabilities and parents about PUNS, while protecting individual confidentiality and allowing military dependents to maintain eligibility for future services.
