IL SB2129

Amends the Animal Welfare Act to establish enforcement mechanisms for unpaid administrative fines imposed by the Department of Agriculture for violations.

Allows the Department to prohibit license renewal for any person or entity that fails or refuses to pay an administrative fine until the fine is paid in full.

Requires administrative penalties of $500 or more that remain unpaid after 120 days to be submitted to the Department of Revenue for collection under the Illinois State Collection Act of 1986.

Maintains existing fine structure: $500 for first violation, $1,000 for second violation within 3 years, and $2,500 plus mandatory probationary status for third violation within 3 years.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
