IL SB2285

Repeals provisions that authorized drainage districts to control beaver populations through a notification and trapping permit process.

Exempts drainage districts, road districts, landowners, tenants, and their designees from permit requirements to control nuisance raccoons, opossums, muskrats, skunks, coyotes, and beavers if they comply with applicable license provisions and trap regulations.

Allows landowners, tenants, or designees to remove cottontail rabbits and grey or fox squirrels from their property only by live trap, with animals released alive and unharmed in suitable habitat outside cities, towns, and parks.

Requires designees conducting animal control activities to carry signed and dated written authorization from the drainage district, road district, landowner, or tenant at all times.

Limits the permit exemption to property owned, leased, or controlled by the drainage district, road district, landowner, or tenant.
