IL SB2483

Removes requirement that applicants 75 years of age or older must demonstrate the ability to exercise reasonable care and ordinary and reasonable control of a motor vehicle when applying for a driver's license.

Eliminates mandatory practical driving demonstration for seniors 75 and older during license renewal, allowing them to undergo re-examination in the same manner as other applicants.

Maintains existing examination requirements for all applicants including eyesight tests, knowledge of traffic laws, safe driving practices, and ability to read traffic control devices.

Makes minor technical corrections to the Illinois Vehicle Code including pronoun updates and clarification of language requirements for examinations.

Effective January 1, 2020.
