Individuals appearing on the Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website, Statewide Sex Offender Database, or Statewide Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Database are ineligible for election or appointment to local school councils.

General superintendent must check these databases and notify any local school council member or member-elect found on them, with removal by the school board subject to a hearing under board rules.

Local school council members must comply with all applicable board rules and policies regarding employees or volunteers when engaging in school activities beyond their official council duties.

Removes provisions that made individuals ineligible based on criminal convictions for specific offenses (previously listed in the statute).

Effective immediately upon enactment.
