• Authorizes Class 1 and Class 2 brewers to manufacture and sell mead in addition to beer, with the same production volume limits (up to 930,000 gallons for Class 1 and 3,720,000 gallons for Class 2 per year).

• Updates definitions and licensing provisions throughout the Liquor Control Act to recognize mead as a product brewers can produce alongside or instead of beer.

• Allows brewers holding self-distribution exemptions to sell mead to retail licensees and other brewers under the same conditions as beer sales.

• Makes conforming changes to related sections covering brewer warehouse permits, brew pub licenses, and distributor sales of mead alongside beer and cider.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
