IL SB2556

Repeals Article VII of Chapter 7 of the Illinois Vehicle Code, which governed suspension of driver's licenses for nonpayment of child support or failure to comply with visitation orders.

Makes corresponding amendments to the Non-Support Punishment Act, Illinois Parentage Act of 2015, Illinois Public Aid Code, Supreme Court Act, Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act, and Clerks of Courts Act to remove references to family financial responsibility driving permits and license suspension mechanisms.

Removes provisions allowing courts to suspend driving privileges or issue family financial responsibility driving permits as enforcement tools for child support obligations and parenting time violations.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
