• Amends Section 1-5 of the Township Code (60 ILCS 1/1-5) concerning the use of terms.

• Makes a technical change by striking and replacing the word "that" in subsection (a) regarding references to towns in other Acts.

• Maintains existing definitions that references to "town" in other Acts shall be deemed references to "township" as used in the Township Code.

• Maintains existing definitions that references to "board of trustees" or similar terms in other Acts shall be deemed references to "township board" as used in the Township Code.

• Maintains existing definitions that references to officers of a town in other Acts shall be deemed references to township officers as used in the Township Code.
