IL SB2663

Amends the Governor Succession Act (15 ILCS 5/1) to make a technical change in the line of succession for the office of Governor.

Changes "the" to "the" in Section 1(a) describing the circumstances under which the Governor is unable to exercise powers and duties of office.

Maintains the existing order of succession: Lieutenant Governor, elected Attorney General, elected Secretary of State, elected Comptroller, elected Treasurer, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Preserves provisions regarding succession by death, conviction on impeachment, resignation, temporary disability, or failure to qualify.

Clarifies that an officer succeeding due to temporary disability shall be designated Acting Governor.
