IL SB2712

Amends Section 1-3 of the Criminal Code of 2012 regarding the applicability of common law to criminal offenses.

Maintains the principle that conduct constitutes an offense only if described in the Criminal Code or another state statute.

Preserves the power of courts to punish for contempt and enforce orders or civil judgments regardless of common law applicability.

Makes a technical change by removing redundant language ("the" appears twice in the original text).
