Amends Section 3-2-5 of the Unified Code of Corrections concerning the organization of the Department of Corrections and Department of Juvenile Justice.

Makes a technical change removing redundant language regarding appointment of the Director and Assistant Director of the Department of Corrections.

Maintains the Department of Juvenile Justice as a separate entity administered by a Director appointed by the Governor, responsible for persons under 18 years of age sentenced to imprisonment.

Requires juveniles in the Department of Juvenile Justice to be sight and sound separated from adult offenders in the Department of Corrections.

Establishes a gang intelligence unit under the Director's supervision to gather information on inmate gangs, monitor gang activities, and develop policies to deter gang activity, with information exempt from Freedom of Information Act requests due to confidentiality concerns.
