IL SB2830

Amends the Public Utilities Act Section 7-208 concerning HVAC affiliate marketing regulations.

Defines "HVAC affiliate" as affiliated interests of a gas utility that provide heating, ventilating, or air conditioning services within the utility's service territory.

Requires HVAC affiliates to include a conspicuous disclaimer in all advertising and marketing stating the affiliate's relationship to the gas utility, that it is not regulated by the Illinois Commerce Commission, and that customers are not required to purchase from the affiliate to receive standard utility service.

Disclaimer requirements apply to all advertising forms including print, television, radio, internet, telephone, bill inserts, and newsletters.
