Changes board member terms from 5 years to 4 years for members elected after the effective date of this amendment (February 4, 2020).

Members serve until their successors are elected and qualified, rather than serving a fixed term ending on July 1.

Terms commence after both the election authority canvasses votes and proclaims results AND the member-elect takes the oath of office, removing the previous fixed July 1 start date.

Applies to school districts with populations between 100,000 and 500,000 inhabitants that have adopted this Article of the School Code.

Grants the board of education all rights, powers, and duties provided to other school boards under Article 10 of the School Code.
