• Amends the State Police Act to provide hiring preference to relatives of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

• Extends preference to sons, daughters, stepsons, stepdaughters, grandsons, granddaughters, brothers, and sisters of officers killed in the line of duty as defined in the Line of Duty Compensation Act.

• Maintains existing hiring preference for honorably discharged military veterans alongside the new preference for family members of fallen officers.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
