County boards may enter into agreements establishing toll rate schedules for toll bridges for periods up to 99 years, as determined by the county board.

County boards retain authority to fix toll rates and may alter, change, or establish toll rate schedules, set maximum toll rates subject to adjustment, or establish alternative toll rate structures.

Electronic toll collection systems on toll bridges must be compatible with the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority's system to promote safety, efficiency, and traveler convenience.

Municipalities or private bridge operators may contract with the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to provide electronic toll collection or toll violation enforcement services.

The bill clarifies that its provisions apply only to toll bridges and do not authorize tolls on public roads, streets, or highways, with existing toll bridges in Winnebago County exempt from certain requirements.
