IL SB3020

Prohibits members of the General Assembly, their spouses, and immediate family members living with them from engaging in lobbying or registered lobbying activities for compensation.

Prohibits these individuals from communicating with state or local government officials for the purpose of influencing executive, legislative, or administrative action for compensation.

Defines "lobbyist" to include individuals receiving compensation to influence legislation or rules, designated representatives of advocacy organizations, or representatives of government bodies advocating for policy changes.

Establishes violations as Class A misdemeanors, with General Assembly members required to forfeit their office upon violation.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
