IL SB3021

Expands the Illinois Freedom to Work Act to prohibit covenants not to compete for all employees, removing the previous limitation to only low-wage employees.

Redefines "employee" to mean any individual permitted to work by an employer, rather than only those earning at or near the minimum wage threshold.

Voids all covenants not to compete entered into after the effective date of this amendatory act, making such agreements illegal regardless of employee wage level.

Applies the prohibition to agreements that restrict employees from working for another employer for a specified time period, in a specified geographical area, or performing similar work for a competing employer.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
