SB3029 Summary

• Allows concealed carry licensees to carry firearms in rest areas controlled by the Department of Transportation and buildings located within those rest areas, exempting them from the prohibition on government-controlled properties.

• Eliminates the prohibition against carrying firearms on public transportation (buses, trains, etc.) paid for with public funds and at public transportation facilities.

• Eliminates the prohibition against carrying concealed firearms in public parks, athletic areas, and athletic facilities under municipal or park district control.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
