IL SB3047

Amends the Election Code to require voter registration applicants whose data is transferred from designated government agencies or the Secretary of State's office to provide a signature to the election authority before Election Day or before applying for a vote by mail ballot if no signature image is available.

Modifies Section 1A-16.6 regarding government agency voter registration to add signature requirements for applicants with data transferred from designated agencies (Secretary of State Driver/Vehicle Services, Department of Human Services, Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Department of Employment Security, and Department on Aging).

Modifies Section 1A-16.7 regarding automatic voter registration to add signature requirements for applicants whose data is transferred from the Secretary of State's office or designated automatic voter registration agencies if no signature image is available.

Applicants with pending registration status due to missing signatures must provide identification and a signature before Election Day at polling places, during early voting, or before requesting a vote by mail ballot.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
