SB3091 Summary

• Removes the permit requirement from September 1 through December 31 for vehicles transporting agricultural commodities to exceed maximum registered weight, axle weight, and gross weight limits under Section 15-111.

• Allows vehicles to exceed weight limits by up to 10% above the maximum limits without a permit during the specified period, provided they do not exceed the vehicle's registered gross weight by more than 10%.

• Applies to all highways within Illinois except the interstate system, though axle weight and gross weight cannot violate Section 15-316 or restrictions in Section 6-201.22 of the Illinois Highway Code.

• Maintains all other existing restrictions and conditions that apply to agricultural commodity permits under the vehicle code.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
