IL SB3093

Ratifies and approves the Nurse Licensure Compact, allowing nurses to obtain multistate licenses that permit them to practice in their home state and other compact states.

Establishes the Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators to oversee implementation, including coordinating licensure information systems and establishing uniform rules for all party states.

Requires nurses to comply with state practice laws of the state where the patient is located and subjects nurses to jurisdiction of licensing boards in those states.

Sets eligibility requirements for multistate licensure including education completion, passing NCLEX examinations, criminal background clearance, and valid Social Security number.

Provides that the compact does not supersede existing Illinois state labor laws.
