IL SB3112

Creates the Legislative Accessibility Act requiring the Illinois General Assembly to make all efforts to increase accessibility for people with disabilities.

Requires the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate to each appoint an accessibility coordinator working with the Architect of the Capitol to address accessibility needs.

Mandates the Illinois General Assembly website include an email address, webform, or similar mechanism for requesting reasonable accommodations at legislative events including hearings and floor proceedings.

Establishes the General Assembly Accessibility Task Force with up to 15 Governor-appointed members including persons with disabilities and disability advocates, plus 6 ex officio legislative and state officials.

Requires the Task Force to hold at least 2 meetings and issue recommendations to the General Assembly by December 31, 2020 on measures to increase accessibility; the Task Force provisions expire January 1, 2022.
