SB3206 Summary

• Allows election authorities to reduce the number of judges of election in each precinct from 5 to 3 for any election, except in counties with a population of at least 3,000,000 or where election commissioners select judges.

• Modifies Section 13-1 to permit county boards of commissioners in non-township counties to appoint 3 judges instead of 5 judges of election in any precinct at their discretion.

• Modifies Section 13-2 to permit county boards in township-organized counties to reduce judges from 5 to 3 for any election, with the same exceptions as above.

• Changes Section 14-1 to require boards of election commissioners to select "no less than 3" judges of election per precinct instead of the previous requirement of 5 judges.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
