IL SB3210

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code to prohibit printing a primary ballot when a write-in candidate files notice of intent for an uncontested nonpartisan office, rather than requiring a primary election if the candidate becomes the fifth filer.

Requires persons intending to be write-in candidates at the general election to re-file a declaration of intent with the appropriate election authority when no primary election is held.

Removes previous requirements specifying that written statements must contain the candidate's name, address, intent to be a write-in candidate, and the office sought, along with a filing deadline of 61 days before the primary election.

Removes language stating that election authorities have no duty to conduct a primary or prepare a ballot for uncontested offices unless a timely written statement is filed.
