IL SB3309

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 to add a new subsection (b-5) creating official misconduct charges for persons, lobbyists, and lobbying entities who attempt to influence state government action without proper compliance.

Makes it misconduct for anyone to fail to register as a lobbyist or lobbying entity as required under the Lobbyist Registration Act.

Makes it misconduct to fail to file, or intentionally file incomplete or inaccurate, lobbyist expenditure reports required under the Lobbyist Registration Act.

Makes it misconduct to offer or attempt to offer anything of value to a public officer in exchange for official action.

Defines "lobbyist" and "lobbying entity" by reference to the Lobbyist Registration Act.
