Department of Central Management Services shall implement a program to establish a State prescription generic drug label in consultation with the Chief Procurement Officer.

Program aims to increase competition in the generic drug market and lower generic drug prices for all purchasers.

Department shall contract with one or more generic drug manufacturers to produce certain generic drugs on behalf of the State and participating entities.

Department must adopt rules necessary to implement and administer the program.

Amends the Illinois Procurement Code by adding Section 25-210.
