Nonprofit private special education facilities in Illinois that only serve students referred by public school districts may require monthly tuition payments in advance from school districts for special education services

Private special education facilities must refund tuition to school districts at the end of each regular and summer school term for any days a student was not enrolled

The State Board of Education may order private special education facilities to refund tuition payments to school districts if the facility is found to be in noncompliance with special education rules, upon request by the district

The bill amends Section 14-7.02 of the School Code governing children attending private special education facilities

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
