County board or board of county commissioners may adopt an ordinance to transfer all mosquito abatement district duties to the county and dissolve those districts.

County must submit dissolution proposition to voters of each affected district for approval by referendum following general election law procedures.

Dissolution requires majority approval from combined votes across all districts in the county.

Upon dissolution approval, all district personnel transfer to county with existing collective bargaining agreements and pension/retirement rights preserved.

All district property, records, tax levy powers, funds, and contracts transfer to county for expenditure only for original designated purposes.
