Requires Cook County Department of Corrections, Illinois Department of Corrections, and county sheriffs to provide training on medical and mental health care for pregnant prisoners to correctional officers and staff who have contact with pregnant prisoners

Mandates educational programming for pregnant prisoners covering prenatal care, effects of alcohol and drugs on fetal development, parenting skills, and child health issues

Requires infants to remain with incarcerated mothers for 72 hours after birth (unless medically contraindicated) and provides access to necessary nutritional and hygiene products including diapers

Prohibits placing pregnant prisoners or those who gave birth within the preceding 30 days in administrative segregation unless the director or sheriff determines placement is necessary due to risk of self-harm, harm to others, or escape attempt

Prohibits assigning pregnant prisoners to beds elevated more than 3 feet above the floor; effective January 1, 2021
