SB3441 Summary

• Amends the Environmental Protection Act to add a new fee structure under Section 22.8 for small quantity hazardous waste generators.

• Requires the Environmental Protection Agency to collect a $500 fee from small quantity hazardous waste generators required to apply for a USEPA identification number or submit a renotification of activities under the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.

• Fee becomes effective January 1, 2021 and is due at the time the application or renotification is required to be submitted.

• All collected fees are deposited into the Environmental Protection Permit and Inspection Fund for permit, manifest, and inspection activities.

• Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
