IL SB3444

Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971 to modify overpayment refund procedures for Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) benefit recipients.

Eliminates the 7-year limitation on overpayment refunds, making all overpayments immediately payable to benefit recipients regardless of when the initial overpayment occurred.

Requires the Department of Central Management Services to notify benefit recipients of overpayments and process refunds as promptly as possible.

Makes refund requirements retroactive to any previously made overpayments that have not yet been paid out.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
