IL SB3451

Amends the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act to authorize EMS providers to transport patients to alternate health care facilities licensed under the Hospital Licensing Act or by a state licensing agency, subject to the EMS System plan.

Requires the Department of Public Health to adopt administrative rules specifying types of licensed alternate health care facilities eligible for EMS participation and limitations on that participation.

Mandates that EMS System providers agree to comply with all Department administrative rules implementing these provisions.

Directs the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to reimburse EMS Service providers for transports to alternate facilities under Section 5-4.2 of the Illinois Public Aid Code.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
