IL SB3458

Adds Section 29-21 to the Illinois Election Code establishing prohibitions on use of public funds for election interference purposes.

Prohibits public funds from being used to urge electors to vote for or against candidates or propositions, or for political/campaign purposes to candidates or political organizations.

Allows public funds to be used for dissemination of factual information about ballot propositions and information related to constitutional amendment proposals.

Establishes Class B misdemeanor penalty for first violation and Class A misdemeanor penalty for second or subsequent violations.

Repeals Section 9-25.1 of the Election Code and takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
