SB3533 Summary

• Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 to require the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to assess and monitor minors' living arrangements when they are restored to out-of-state parents or guardians without an Interstate Compact agreement in place.

• Authorizes courts to order DCFS assessment and ongoing monitoring of a child's health, safety, and best interests during pending motions to modify or vacate private guardianship orders that would return the child to a parent, guardian, or legal custodian.

• Requires courts to order DCFS assessment and monitoring of a minor's living arrangements during the pendency of petitions to reinstate wardship to assist the court in making determinations about the child's best interests.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
