IL SB3581

Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure to expand conditions under which child and intellectually or developmentally disabled victims can testify with facility dogs in violent crime prosecutions.

Extends facility dog testimony accommodations beyond sexual assault crimes to include any violent crime as defined in the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Act.

Courts must consider the victim's age, rights of parties, and other relevant factors when deciding whether to permit testimony with a facility dog to facilitate the victim's testimony.

Defines "facility dog" as a dog graduated from an assistance dog organization that is a member of Assistance Dogs International.
