IL SB3601

Requires superintendents, regional offices of education, and background check entities to notify the State Superintendent of Education within 10 days of learning about a pending criminal charge against a license holder for offenses listed in Section 21B-80.

Amends Sections 10-21.9 and 34-18.5 of the School Code to add notification requirements for pending criminal charges in addition to existing conviction reporting procedures.

Applies to all license holders employed in public schools, including teachers, administrators, and support staff with direct contact with students.

Takes effect July 1, 2020.
