Department of Transportation shall conduct a study of automated traffic law enforcement systems within 30 days of the bill's effective date, with results due to the General Assembly by January 1, 2021.

Study report must include input from local law enforcement on system operation, usage, permits, and regulation; public safety improvements after installation; and annual fatalities at intersections before and after system installation or over the last 5 years.

Department shall provide recommendations it deems necessary based on study findings.

Bill applies exclusively to Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Madison, McHenry, St. Clair, and Will counties and municipalities within those counties.
