IL SB3622

Requires county board chairman and vice-chairman to be elected by a majority of those elected to the board in counties under township organization.

Designates the vice-chairman to automatically serve as chairman if the chairman's position becomes vacant, until a new chairman is elected to complete the departing chairman's 2-year term.

Allows removal of a chairman chosen by the county board upon an affirmative vote of four-fifths of the board, with the vice-chairman immediately assuming duties without chairman compensation.

Takes effect January 1, 2021.
