IL SB3703

Establishes a new eligibility category beginning January 1, 2021 for persons aged 19 and older who would qualify for medical assistance except for their immigration status, with income at or below 133% of federal poverty level plus 5%.

Eligible immigrants under this new category receive coverage identical to the Health Benefits Service Package under Illinois Medicaid.

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code Section 5-2 to add paragraph 21 creating this immigration-status-based eligibility provision.

Coverage is contingent on federal approval and applicable federal law requirements, with implementation subject to appropriation of funds.
