IL SB3719

Amends the Currency Exchange Act to require licensees to verify purchaser identity and address using government-issued identification for money order sales of $250 or more in aggregate face value in a single day.

Requires licensees to record the purchaser's name, address, and the type and number of the government-issued identification examined.

Maintains existing requirements for licensees to record the amount, month/year of sale, and serial number for all money orders sold or issued.

Requires records to be preserved for at least 7 years or until the money order is returned, with returned money orders preserved for a minimum of 3 years from the sale or issuance date.

Records must be kept at the licensee's principal office or other location readily accessible to the Secretary within the state, with obligations transferring to successor licensees if business is sold or transferred.
