• Amends the School Code to require schools and school districts to make criminal history records check information and database checks available to regional offices of education upon request, expanding access beyond just schools and districts.

• Removes the limitation that restricted information sharing to checks performed within the last year and checks performed under specific provisions, allowing broader access to all obtained background check information.

• Applies to criminal history records checks, Statewide Sex Offender Database checks, and Statewide Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Database checks for employment applicants and student teachers.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
