SB3766 Summary

• Requires governing boards of all Illinois public universities (University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University, Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Governors State, Illinois State, Northeastern Illinois, and Western Illinois) and community college districts to establish minimum per-class salaries for non-tenured track faculty equal to the equivalent percentage salary of full-time faculty.

• Mandates minimum per-class salaries for adjunct faculty equal to the equivalent percentage salary of a starting full-time, non-tenured track faculty member at the same institution.

• Requires adjunct faculty teaching a combined 50% workload across any combination of public higher education institutions to receive state benefits including health insurance and pension.

• Amends the State Mandates Act to exempt these requirements from state reimbursement obligations to local governments.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
